10 months old & still not a hippo! I am amazed at how big babies are nowadays. I keep hearing about all these bigger babies & here I have little miss petite. My sister told me about a coworker whose 3 weeks old weighs over 11 lbs. My 6 month old was just under 12 lbs. I love my itty bitty beautiful daughter & can't imagine her being so much bigger than she is.
What our 10 month can do or does:
Still not pulling up or perfectly crawling but she can get where ever she wants when she wants, usually faster than mommy or anyone sees. Her crawling is still her pulling with her arms, quite well actually, & she has started adding knees or I should say a knee. :) She rolls EVERYWHERE. She gets around amazingly. I think she prefers rolling because leg warmers/leg rolls/whatever you want to call them don't stay on her legs so her knees get irritated on the rough carpet. She does the out of water swimming a lot, kicking her arms & legs out while on her belly. It's so silly. She can stand with assistance for quite a long time & we're working on her walking with assistance but not really there yet. I'm ok with that. She loves being outside & mommy loves her cuddle times. Katie eats exceptionally well. So while she might be behind on standing/walking, she's doing amazing on eating. She eats her baby puffs & cheerios without any problem & she feeds herself really well. She takes bites & I'm not talking itty bitty bites, my girl knows what she wants & she takes good bites. She gets her yogurt, fruits, veggies, & meat during the day but I've also started feeding her what we have at dinner. She has no problem with rice, smashed beans, & pasta. She loves to eat what we're having. Having mexican she eats beans & rice from my plate (or if at home her own bowl), having fries- she gets small pieces. She has choked a few times but that's part of growing up & learning. Just like a few bumps & bruises, or a dent in your forehead. No worries, the dent didn't stay. :) She's also really good with a sippy cup & can even drink from a small/thin (coffee) straw. She gets excited to drink from a straw & eat big people food. :)
We had a doctor's appt because she was concerned about her lack of weight gain before. I won't go into my thoughts, other than I think they're complete idiots. They entered her 9 months weight wrong into the computer & didn't listen as I repeatedly corrected that. According to them she only gained 3 oz in a month when in fact it was 13. I know what the scale said, I'm always so anxious to see it. She's fine though & doesn't have to go back until a year. I finally got some help for the constipation issue. I learned Mike's brother had the same issue & unfortunately my daughter got that stupid gene from her father's side. Doctor told me one thing & I've been doing that but yesterday she told me "oh no, don't do that". So now I have a real solution or at least what I hope will be a solution for that issue. Poor baby girl!
Lucky for Bug she's gotten to see both sides of our family in May. Mike's mom & grandma arrived May 3rd & stayed for 5 days & my parents arrived this Wednesday(29th) & will stay a week.
So, for pictures I suppose!
