Slowly but Quickly

Life seems to be going slowly but SO quickly. Today I am 15 weeks along with munchkin love. I am so paranoid this pregnancy & consistently fear something is wrong. I don't feel pregnant anymore, I don't have the nausea & such. In the morning I have sore boobs but they go away. I have an appt today but it's a physical. I don't know if they'll do the Doppler, even if I ask. I need to hear his/her heartbeat, I need to know he/she is ok. At the same time, if something is wrong do I really want to find out right before Christmas. I'm already sad we're not home with family and it just doesn't feel like Christmas here. It looks like Christmas but doesn't feel like it. So, in a nutshell, I'm worried about baby and anxious about today. I had a stomach flu early last week & I lost a nice chunk of weight. I was down 20 lbs(from pre-pregnancy). I gained back 5. Grrr! Then again, I literally had nothing in my stomach for 24 hrs & could barely eat for another day. I guess shows you what a pig I am to gain back so much in so little time. Waa Waa! I'm still, according to our scale, down 15 lbs. I HOPE the doctor scale shows at least a few lbs lost.

Christmas. Well, it does look like it here. Our stockings are hung, we have a decorated tree & presents under it. Our front door is decorated/has lights. The mantel had lights but they decided to die 2 days ago so up. We have Christmas decorations up too & a mini tree with lights. I would be listening to more Christmas music but my hubby is a butthead & hates it. Stupid boys! We got stuff to make a nice little meal on Christmas too. It just doesn't feel like Christmas is 2 days away. Just doesn't feel special. And maybe that's because I know in a week we start the process of moving our home. Packing & moving & new home! I am stressed about that.

Katie is still my spitfire & full of energy. She now will repeat songs from her shows. She's been eating REALLY great lately, that's so awesome. I hope it keeps up because she needs to gain weight. Even I'm worried now. 2 lbs in 5 months is not a lot.

Well, that's about it. Have a great day & a Merry Christmas!

December

It has officially been 1 year since we left Sierra Vista, Az & I super miss my old life. I miss my friend & her son. I know she'd have my back & be my shoulder during this pregnancy. Oh well. Anyways, Katie is getting so big & I think she's grown a little more. I need to measure her but I do know the scale showed her weighing 22 lbs. Big girl! She's mostly back to happy go lucky but with pain in the butt mixed in. I left Katie with a babysitter/a friend on Tuesday for my appt and she did amazing. She had no problem with left with someone she barely knows. Good & bad I know. The other day I was getting water from the fridge & Katie saw the ultrasound on the fridge. She said "my baby" & pointed up at the us. It surprised me because we're told her about being a big sister & we're talked a little about it but it's not like an every day thing. It just surprised me she randomly pointed to the us & talk me that's her baby. :)

So, my first appt with new doctor was Tuesday & I have mixed feelings on it. I hate doctors telling me & insisting I'm going to have a hard pregnancy because of my size. He said I had a hard one last time & I did not. I had a few blips & ended up with pre-eclampsia the last 2-3 weeks but I don't consider that bad. He's going to highly monitor me since Katie was small. Again, she was small but she wasn't preemie or ever in NICU. She was completely healthy. So, whatever dude. I guess I won't complain about getting monthly ultrasounds after 20 weeks. :) Getting to see munchkin every month, watching him/her grow will be nice. I passed my glucose test but apparently doc wants me on a sugar free diet. Also to lose weight. So, after being annoyed with him I decided he just wants what's best for baby & for a easier healthier pregnancy. So, ok. I've been really watching what I eat & staying away from extra sugar. According to my scale I've lost almost 12 lbs in 3 months. I'll just keep it up. Maybe I'll keep getting the nausea that keeps me only eating a little. It sort of tells me "ok, enough, stop eating or I'll make you super nauseous". I'm talking like 1.5 eggs, 3/4 of my sandwich plus tomatoes & cucumber slices, etc. I can still eat, just not as much as before. Good for weight loss.

Well, I guess that's about all. I'll leave Katie's Christmas photo. It wasn't really what I wanted to do but we were having crappy weather & I needed to finish Christmas presents. Maybe we'll have a good day for more photos but I'll probably stick with the ones I did. :)

Merry Christmas Everyone!

News News

What's new? Well, I passed my glucose test. My number weren't as good as last time but they're still within range & I have some wiggle room so if they do go up I will hopefully be ok. Monday I did the test & she said "if they're really bad, they'll call today". I get a missed call from the hospital & I almost bawled. I freaked out because they'd only call if really bad, my gosh they're really bad. It wasn't even about the glucose test, it was about them passing me off to another doctor. "We don't think we can handle the complications we expect to arise". Well, screw you. So now I'm being seen in the complete opposite direction of town. Well my first apt is on Tuesday. Reviews say he's a great doctor but his staff are rude/bitches so we'll see. At Bach(on post) kids are allowed & new place they are not. That sucks & opens a whole new bag of issues. Ugh!

I am 12 weeks along with munchkin & supposedly he/she is .5 oz & 2 inches long. Grow baby grow. My nausea has come back. We went to my brother's for Thanksgiving & I had very very few symptoms and that really worried me. Came home & bam, nauseous. Great! Also my breast hurt again. I think those are good signs at least. :) Katie was a pain in the butt in Ks & has continued to be. She is SO darn whiney all the time. At times nothing you do is right. She wants down, no she wants up, no she wants down. She wants in the middle apparently. If you don't do it right it's a total meltdown. We are seriously going to lose our minds with her. I miss my always happy go lucky kid. She still has those moments & they are so welcome. Terrible 2's or teething, what ever it is I hope it's time is almost over or at least a break in them is in store.

We found out on Monday that our landlord is raising the rent which we can't really afford SO we're moving in January. Right now it looks like we'll end up on post but we have til the end of December to decide & sign papers. I am SO darn stressed with this move & I know stress is so bad. All that needs to happen keeps going through my mind & I want to start packing/moving now! I partly don't want to decorate for Christmas but I know I need too. January will be for packing & moving, I need to make Christmas great for Katie. And for myself because I will definitely miss being home for Christmas.

Well I guess that's about all. This seems to be turning into my everything blog instead of just about kids. Oh well, it'll get back to just about kids. :)

OB Orientation!

Yesterday was such a long day & the crappiness had spilled over from the night before. I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep so you know that's going to be fun. We get ready & I get to my appt 20 minutes early. Sit there, sit there, sit there. It was about 15 minutes after my appt & it was an 8 am appt. She was kind of rude & expected me to remember every med I've been on for the last 13 years. How am I suppose to remember what depression medicine I was on in 2001, I was 17. After the paperwork she went to find an appt & asked if I could come back at 1:40. I wasn't thrilled & I had no idea why I was coming back but ok, sure, whatever. Nurse was suppose to put in a new prenatal but of course when I got to the pharmacy it wasn't put it. I was there for about 2 hours total. You know they need their 10 vials of blood. So, crabby/impatient/whiney kid & I left the hospital to relax at home for a few hours. I went back & again early but once again, waited about 30 mins past my appt which is awesome with a kid already done with being at a hospital. She wasn't too bad but she was super hyper/active because she had been awake since 5:30 & only a 10 minute nap about 9:30. My second appt was for the growth scan since according to my last cycle I was 17-18 weeks & according to sex I was 10wks5days. The doctor/whoever she was walked in & I kid you not, these were her first words to me. "Are you diabetic already? (No) Well guess what you get to do." She could've just told me she'd like me to come do an early g.d. test & I would've understood. But the way she did was very bitchy in my opinion. They assumed I'd have G.D. with Katie because of my size & my scores were fantastic! Then nim-wit does the ultrasound & she barely puts it in & she couldn't find the baby. It really made no sense, it seemed like she didn't know what she was doing & I'm sure she did but she was barely putting it in & putting no real pressure to find the baby. So she leaves & I'm about to bawl because where is my baby. New doctor comes in, very personable & friendly. Finds baby in 3 seconds. My beautiful little munchkin, moving all around, & he/she waved. I saw the heart beat & I was in awe. I kept sighing & they kept asking if I was ok. Of course I'm ok, I am seeing our baby, our beautiful little surprise, alive & well. He/She measured 10wks3days. With Katie she measured 6 days smaller than my EDD so it was nice that this one, maybe because of better machines or just closer to conception, only measured 2 days smaller. June 16th, 2015 our munchkin love is due! YAY!!!!

Katie was such a handful yesterday. I brought her water color book, I brought snacks, we sang our ABCs, she ran around a small room, she was constantly getting up & down. She was whiny & wanted my attention at all times which is hard when trying to get information. I had asked my husband to come to the second appt & I knew he probably couldn't but it would've been nice. He ignored my text. Yesterday was just overwhelming & I know it was hard on her too. I was nauseous, exhausted, & irritable. She was exhausted & bored. 2 overwhelmed girls don't mesh well together.

I have my glucose test on Monday & although my husband's leave starts Monday he has to go into work. So, I will get to deal with most likely extreme nausea & an active crazy 2 year old. I plan to take a backpack with a ton of stuff. Books, crayons, coloring books, toys, lots of snacks for her. I hope I can keep her entertained good enough & I hope I can keep the drink down. I know last time they made me very nauseous & I didn't have a issue with nausea/morning sickness. I battle nausea/morning sickness with this pregnancy so adding a strong nausea inducing drink won't help. My suppose to be babysitter for all my appts is still working her regular job which is her prerogative honestly but kind of sucks when I could use being kid free. Oh well. Millions of moms have done it before me, I can do it. It'll hopefully be over within 90 minutes. Ha, I know how unlikely that'll be, probably take 30 minutes just to get the drink, then it'll probably be past an hour when I get called back for blood. These people aren't timely. :)

As for Katie. She is so full of energy & joy. She's obsessed with the moon, clocks, trucks, buses, SPIDERS, almost anything. She's so curious & excited. She likes to say/sing 'Happy Birthday To You' & 'Let it Go'. We haven't even seen Frozen but she loves that song & the snowman. We got a little snow this week & she said it was "a snowman!". She's so loving & caring. When I get sick she always asks if I'm ok. If I look sad she'll ask if I'm ok. She'll rub my face & tell me it's ok. She's going to be a great big sister & she's fascinated by babies. She gets upset if she hears a baby crying & yesterday she walked over to stare at a newborn baby boy. I'm so excited to see her relationship with the new baby. I really do love that kid. As much of a pain she is & as overwhelmed I get with her, she's an amazing kid. She is such a light in my life. Oh! And we've finally broken the public toilet barrier. She will pee in a public toilet now! Thank freaking goodness! She started Thursday night. Sigh of relief since we're about to be traveling to Kansas & not having to take her toilet is nice. :)

No Title

I can't think of a snappy or even to the point title. Well I guess miserable would do it but that's a sucky title, plus I might have to use that later. We have hit the terrible 2's or at least the please shoot me WHINEY 2's. My house would be full of cheese if she got cheese with her whines. Wake up to bedtime is 75% unhappiness from her, complete my life is over meltdowns. She doesn't get to eat what she wants, has to eat what I want her to, can't watch her show for the umpteen time, won't change the channel/show after 5 minutes of the current, requested, cartoon. Doesn't want to get dressed, doesn't want to put her undies & pants back on after pee, hates all her pajamas. I've seriously thought "if we lived close to home I'd SO send you to grandma's right now". I need a break. I probably even just go visit said grandma/mom's house. Just having the extra help & plus kids love their grandmas & grandmas spoil kids. It has been so cold here & I freeze non-stop so no way in heck I'm going outside to let her run off steam. Today's high is 32. It is currently 32 now. So, it's going to get colder, 28, before it gets warmer, 32, again. It's going to drop to 20 by 2am & finally a low of 19 by 7am. My husband is way too busy today so I have to try & make a doctor's appt tomorrow. I'm a Cali girl, we were in AZ a year ago, I'm not use to this COLD! I am telling you, I am always under a blanket. My heater is set to 72 during the day & I still freeze to death, under my mink blanket. Enough with the cold & back to the 2 yr old. I should interact with her (makes it sound like I just ignore her, I don't) but I am so darn tired all the time and I usually feel like crap. Headaches, backaches, nausea, heartburn, it's been 1-2 something all the time. If I'm lucky I get all those during the day on top of being exhausted. I woke up this morning with my esophagus burning, heartburn from hell. From lunch. Not even dinner, it was from lunch. When I wake up with heartburn that usually means I'll *tmi* get sick with nothing stomach. I puke up bile which hurts & taste ..... I can't even describe it. It is the most vile thing ever. The most bile thing ever *ba ba bum!*.  Seriously though, it's horrendous. And now that I think of it, when that happens I'm nauseous all day after. This all happened yesterday too. At first, I couldn't eat much which I thought "hey, awesome, weight loss". Now I'm constantly hungry. I try really hard to eat healthy. At least get in some fruits & veggies, more than I use too. I try to not randomly snack on pretzels or whatever. Some days are good, some are bad. So, all in all, this pregnancy kind of sucks, major balls, at times. I can't wait to feel normal again, I'm sure my daughter can't wait either. :) 10 weeks down. Only 30 to go! Woo hoo!

Well, off to snuggle in bed for hopefully a few more hours. Maybe 2 if I'm lucky! Hopefully I'll sleep, I need it! :)

Insomnia

This pregnancy insomnia is no fucking joke. I haven't dealt too much with peeing like crazy but that has started kicking in. Went to bed at 11, woke up at midnight to pee. Woke up again at 2 & knew I wasn't getting back to sleep soon. Last pregnancy I just had plain insomnia, with added baby kicks. Tonight is totally pregnancy insomnia. I was thirsty, nauseous, headache, backache, & a lot of uterus/uteral pressure. I couldn't get comfortable because of the pressure & I think all the moving around caused the back pain. I didn't want to get a drink because that's what caused waking up twice in 2 hours, plus I was nauseous. Nausea & water don't mix for me, it makes it worse & I usually don't keep it down. I finally passed the threshold between awake & sleep once, just barely asleep, & my kid cried out in her sleep. Yup, some cursing happened in my head. After almost 2 hours of trying to get back to sleep my bladder called again. Thanks bladder, I didn't even drink that much. 11, 12, 2, & 3:45. A total of 4 times in 5 hours. Joyous! I gave up on sleep so here I am blogging & drinking water, because that's really smart. Other than this crap, the pregnancy is going ok. I've had to start using a rubberband with my pants because they're too tight regular. I know I'm not that far along but some days I am so bloated. My wonderful sister has loose lips & decided it was ok to tell some cousins that I'm pregnant. The only people who know are my immediate family & 2 close friends. Mike's parents & grandparents know but I don't even know if his siblings do. I imagine his mom told them but we didn't. I haven't put it on facebook & I while I have blogged about it, my family doesn't read this blog. I don't really have plans of putting it on facebook, I didn't with Katie until I was like 18 weeks. So, most likely it won't end up on facebook until January. It pisses me off that my sister felt she could tell them. She also decided to tag me in a baby name article. I asked her to send it to me, like email/fb message. I removed the tag but still all our family/mutual friends can see my name on a baby name post. The reason my sister told my cousins was because my nosey cousin assumed because we weren't coming home in Dec that it was because I'm pregnant. Not that case, it's the 3-4 days of driving & about $500 in gas/food/hotel each way keeping us from going this year. We planned to go next summer but that might not happen with the new baby so it might get pushed til next Christmas. I really want to go home though, I miss home & my family. I want Katie to have more time with our family. I've thinking about maybe flying home early next year for a visit. Don't think I could handle flying home in the summer with 2 kids. I would rip my hair out for sure. Decisions, decisions! Well, I guess that's all. Have a wonderful day!

Fall

Pregnancy is kicking my darn butt! Most of the time there is major pressure & sometimes I feel hugely/far along pregnant. Morning sickness is daily but some days aren't as bad. I have to be so careful of how much I eat or I get nauseous. My back sometimes kills me but I remember having a lot of back pain the first time too. I seem to get more & more lethargic, that's no fun with a 2 year old. Katie had a blast on Halloween. She bugged me all day long with "trick or treat? trick or treat? daddy home! trick or treat!". I told her when daddy got home we would get dressed & go. She still says trick or treat when she wants her bucket of candy. She didn't even get that much but she had a blast. That's about it. I'll leave some pictures here, some fall & Halloween pictures. Katie was a strawberry. She's getting so big, I can't believe it.

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Wow

Well, soon I'll have to change my blog title. I found out today that I'm pregnant! We suffered for 6 years with primary infertility but we did not struggle with secondary, thank goodness. I'm in shock! I can't believe I'm actually pregnant, that is just freaking crazy. I'm about 6-6.5 weeks along. I called my husband freaking out & scared him to death. I did not want to tell him over the phone, that's a horrible way to tell him but I just...freaked! I didn't know what to do. Holy crap I'm pregnant, what?! Oh my GOSH!!! This is crazy!!! How can I not tell family! I want to shout it from the rooftop!!! I want to tell everyone! Even if it hasn't been comfirmed by the doctor yet. 2 home pregnancy tests have said YES! I want to buy more! AHHHH! Do you know how crazy this is? I didn't think for a second it'd be easy to get pregnant again. I've gained SOOOO much weight since I had Katie. I'm huge. And yet, I'm pregnant again! AHHHH! I don't know that I'll be able to keep it a secret. We may tell everyone tonight. I just WHAT! This is crazy!

I'll be due middle of June 2015. I am due middle of June. If all goes well, if baby keeps sticking, that is. Stick baby stick! Stick baby stick!!!

2 years 2 months

Or Nearly, in 9 days. Not a lot has changed but at the same time it has. I was asked to measure Katie about a week ago & she was still coming in at 32 inches but I swear she feels longer when I carry her to bed. She stepped on theI' scale the other day in shirt & undies and it showed 20.4 lbs. So maybe 21 lbs if she was on the hospital one.

She has a favorite book, that's for sure. "My No No No Day" by Rebecca Patterson. She can even help read it. She knows what bella says. She doesn't say all the words but she knows the jist of it for most of the page & is happy to say bella's part of the story. It's cute & funny. Wish she would find a few new favorite books, it gets tiring reading the same ones over & over. She actually got upset the other day because she couldn't find her No No No Day book. Oh geez! It was found & all happiness was restored.

Jumping. She can jump & she loves to do it. Randomly usually & she has a blast. When she was a baby she hated her jenny jump-up & the exersaucer. Well she liked the exersaucer but she didn't like jumping in it. Yesterday she was using a pillow next to my night stand like a trampoline, going up & down. I'm mostly meaning the both feet off the ground jumping without holding anything. One day she decided to try to jump & of my gosh, that was the most hilarious day. Her eyes got so big the first time she came off the ground & her body went forward a little so she was off balance when she landed. Didn't fall but surprised her. I'd say within a week of starting to do it she had it down.

Clothes/Diapers/Undies: She is for the most part potty trained. When she wants to be that is. I think she sometimes gets caught up in playing or just not wanting to walk to the bathroom. When she pees in her panties she takes them off & hides them. Yay! Honestly she has accidents mostly with daddy home. She does good with me. She can now even wear shorts with undies & still use the potty. Pants may be a little harder. She's also had successful trips out in undies. Once we went to Walmart, accident free. One time we were out for about 2 hours & forgot she had on undies, she made it til the drive home. Not her fault, I completely forgot because usually she has on a pull up & this time daddy forgot to change her. Yesterday we went to dinner (again, it was a forgot to change her), only gone about 30-45 mins & we made it home dry. I think it might be time for switching to panties on outings, if they're going to be shorter that is. Her panties are size 18m, size 2/3T pull ups when used & she's in between 3 & 4 night diapers. Her 3 night diapers are too small but the 4 pampers are way big. I'll switch to huggies 4 because I think they're smaller or maybe use size 3 pamper night ones. Clothes... 18m shirts still mostly fit but so do 2T. 2T shirts actually fit pretty well now. 18m shorts are still fine. Pants, that's a different story. She has no butt, panties are thin, & her waist is tiny so what fits in length doesn't in the waist. We've always used thin diapers (can't stand fat ones or cheap ones) so we've always had issues with bottoms fitting. Now it seems worse because diapers at least gave SOME padding. I guess I'll just have to find long 18m smaller waist pants. She even fits into 12-18m children place pants. If she grows any taller we're in trouble, they're barely long enough to be normal right now. Oh the joys of a smaller children. I was the same way so I feel my mom's pain.

My kid apparently has a connection with her great-grandpa who passed in December 2013. On 2 occasions, both within a week, she has talked to "grandpa". I know kids play & this kid play calls family all the time. This is different, way different. I've gotten videos of it. She talks to the ceiling, like someone is there and when I've asked her if she sees grandpa/grandpa is here she's pointed to the ceiling. It's only happened in our room, when it's been very quiet. We have a plague we made for Papa in November with pictures of her & him. When I ask who that is, it's grandpa. Believe what you want, believe it or don't, that's fine. It's hard for me to accept too but I know I'm not coaching her & I've seen it happen twice now. It's so amazing & surreal. I hope it keeps happening, I hope she gets to keep that connection with him & he continues to watch over her.

2 year appt!

Today we had Katie's 2 year appt & it almost didn't happen. Katie's NP(she didn't even have a doctor, but her NP was fabulous) left 2 weeks after we met her which was a HUGE bummer. Well since a new doctor hasn't taken NP's place Katie doesn't have a doctor assigned to her. I tried to make an appt a month ago & first avail. was 6 weeks later/mid August. I was told to call at 6 am to get a same day appt when I needed it. So I called today, promptly at 6 (I actually called twice slightly before 6 trying to be one of the first callers but wouldn't let me through). Anyways, call at 6 exactly, wait 10 mins to get through & then I'm told Haynie's(NP) back-ups are full. Imagine silence on my end. So she said she'd try to get Katie in with another provider & we got in with a Mr. Leifson (who, don't tell my husband, was not bad looking.... :) ). Katie was weighed & measured and all I wanted was her to be at least 20 lbs. As long as she was 20 lbs I would be ok with it. I was hoping they'd do it clothed, I knew that'd help, but she wasn't, she was weighed naked. So, Katie is...

19 lbs 15 oz
32 inches

Well... haha. As close as you can get without being there I guess. The nurse asked for my concerns & I said weight, that I just want to know it's ok she's so small. Because in Sierra Vista/Ft. Huachuca, they were mostly ok with it. They accepted she was small. When we moved to Clarksville/Ft. Campbell Haynie wasn't ok with a 18 month old 18 lb little girl. Leifson was perfectly fine with her only being 20 lbs, because she's staying on the same arch/curve as other kids. She's below the line but staying consistent with it. So, ok I guess. I was SO glad to hear 32 inches too. She grew!!! She grew an inch & a half in a month. Woo hoo!

It felt really good to be able to answer yes on most of the questions about what she can do. To know she's on course mentally/learning wise with kids her age. Welp, guess that's it. Have a good day.

She's 2!

My Baby Girl is 2! Tell me it isn't so! But it is & she is. She's gotten so big & she's changed so much. I made a collage/timeline with a newborn photo, 1 year photo, & her 2 year photo. Oh my gosh, she looks so different. She has beautiful curly at the ends hair, sometimes she has these beautiful ringlets in her hair. I love it & I don't ever want to cut her hair, in fear she'll lose them. I'm told I had them too when I was a baby. She's mostly a happy go lucky baby or toddler I should say. Attitude, man she's got attitude. She speaks quite a bit but it's usually hard to understand. She's obsessed with cats & bunnies, she loves seeing the bunnies out the back window. She loves blowing & playing with bubbles and she loves playing in her power wheels, she can finally press the pedal right. She likes her power wheels on high & crashing into my car or the bush. She laughs so hard but then again, we're laughing too because it's hilarious! My big girl, she's getting so big. Please tell her to stop growing. She's still wearing mostly 18 or 18-24 month clothes. Most 24 month or 2T clothes are way too big. I would say she's potty trained but she does have some accidents & it's just pee wise, not poop. During the day if we're staying home she wears undies. Half the time we go out & about she won't pee in her pull-ups but I like knowing she had to go she can go without causing extra laundry. Last I measured her she was about the same size as when she was 18 months but I really think she's had a growth spurt the last few weeks. She seems taller to me. Weight, she's still about 20 lbs. I'm going to try & get her in for her 2 year appt on Monday so we'll see then. It does bother me that she's the same weight as some 1 year olds & even some fat 4-6 month olds. I want her to gain & grow, it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong since she's not gaining. I feel like the doctors are going to think I'm starving her or something. Doesn't help that I've been having to fight her morning, noon, & night to eat & I keep worrying about the appt & her weight. Ugh, parenthood/petite child worries!!!
So, I guess I'll share some of her 2 year photos. She was not a happy camper & refused to really smile. Oh well. :)

23 Months!

We are SO close to 2 years old. Actually we're 22 days away, 3 weeks! Can I cry now?! Please!!! Oh my gosh, it's going SO fast! She talks so much now. It's still toddler talk so it's hard to understand usually but she says a lot & understands a lot. It's amazing. She loves watching the bunnies out the window & will tell you Bunny. Also she says birdy or birds. She loves looking up into the sky & seeing airplanes, she even says airplane in her toddler way. She knows pink, blue, purple, green, & working on red. Yellow & Orange seem to be hard for her to say. She helps me put away dishes & she gets paid to do so. Usually 25-50 cents each time, depending on how much. Helping with pot lids gets extra money. She loves putting money in her piggy bank. I counted her stash today & she has $7.25 in there. She still loves reading books & sometimes read to herself. She tries to sing along to songs & it's funny to watch her just move her mouth with no sound coming out. She loves dancing & being chased. She will chase back now. She loves to say "ready, set, go" and take off. She says Bye, Hi, I Love You, Have a good day, what you doing?, what's that?, & more. She knows the sound of dog, cat, elephant, lion, moose(from a game), monkey, & I'm sure a few others. She knows how to say Mimi, Nini, Appa, Stephy, Joshy, Chris, Matt, Daddy, Mommy, Te-te(auntie or aunt t (my sister)). We're working on granny & grandpa but since learning Appa she's called my dad appa too. She's still in 18-24 month clothes. Size 3 diapers when she wears them. She likes The Chica Show, most Disney shows, Sesame Street, & anything cat.

Potty Training! It was HELL! I wanted to rip my hair out, I wanted to scream & cry, I wanted to give up so bad. But I knew the second time was worse than the first & the third would be worse than the second so there was no way I was giving up without a fight. Mommy won! She actually did pretty good & I won't say we're completely potty trained because she has an a few accidents lately but for the most part she's pretty potty trained, pee wise that is. She didn't have any accidents for like 5 days & then last night with daddy home she had 2 within like an hour. She knows to tell me if she has to go, she'll say "go potty!" & we'll go to the bathroom. She did have a habit of holding it but now she won't hold it, she'll just pee in the toilet. We have a whole routine. We clap, we high five, we dump the bowl, rinse it while she flushes the toilet, then we put a sticker on her chart. Last night, end of Day 14, she had 65 stickers! She tends to pick all the mickey stickers, she apparently prefers mickey. :) We had company last week so I think it would've been higher if we weren't running around for a few days. She got 10 stickers yesterday, her highest for a day. Previous high was 7 a day & got that a few days. Not bad, not bad baby girl! :) She runs around bottomless during the day because we haven't mastered not going in panties. She'll usually go if we put on panties. I think she forgets it's not a diaper & she can't just go. Well she can, they're gerber training ones so a little thicker & more absorbent. So, at home she runs bottomless. :)

I don't know about her height or weight currently but she seems to have a more solid stomach. Maybe she's gained a little. I hope so. Hoping we break the 20 lb mark when we go to her 2 year check up. :)

Potty Training

Oh begeebus! Potty training sucks! Attempt 1 failed and maybe 2 will too. Yesterday was attempt 2 day 1 & it was the most frustrating experience of the year. I wanted to scream, cry, throw things, etc. I tried nice momma, mean momma, give up momma. 1 success & like 8 fails/oopsies. I prayed for a calm mind & an understanding mind & apparently the big man up there came through. Today was way better mentally for me & more successful. 4 successes & yeah, about 8 oopsies. In the last 2 days she's peed in the bathroom by her potty about 6 times. Today it was directly in front of her potty right after standing up. There is a sticker chart, I have a sticker chart(see Katie, mommy gets a sticker, don't you want one too), I've bribed with candy, phone games, playing outside, etc. Bribing doesn't really work but you know, maybe one time it'll work. Haha. 4 successes! That's awesome! We spent hours in that bathroom, sadly maybe as much as 2-3 hours when you add it all up. All for a fighting chance of potty training.

Some may say I'm doing it too young & yeah, it feels like I'm trying young. It really does. But then I heard about 12 month olds training, 15 month olds, 18 month olds. I really really hate those with 12-15 months old that it was uber easy. Then I hear about the 3 year olds still in diapers & 4 years old. Oh hells to the no to the 4 yr olds is diapers! It seems with a lot of people/their kids that their kids just one day decided ok, I'll use the potty and by "a lot of people/their kids" I mean the people here at Ft. Campbell. Those whose kids decided it was time were mainly 3 yr olds, almost 4 year old. Good for them & awesome it was easy, though I know most tried potty training before & it just didn't work. Awesome the kid wanted to do it & did it but I don't think I have the patience to have a 3 yr old Katie in diapers. Though she is tiny & would probably still be in size 4 diapers at that time. :) She's in size 3 now at nearly 2. ANYWAYS, trying to get away from diapers.

Will this attempt at potty training work? I don't know. She's not even 23 months & I do admit part of it is because of my in-laws coming which honestly is stupid because when they're here I won't be able to give her my full attention to prevent accidents as much as possible. Today I realized that she gives me a certain look when she needs to go. She looks scared a little, frantic kind of. She'll deny needing to go but now I know that means go time. She'll get really close, leaning against me, & grab my sleeve or something, that usually means pee is on the way out. By the time it registers what she's doing she's already had a least a little accident and we run to the bathroom. She gave me the signals yesterday but when she told me "no" to "do you need to pee" I believed her. WRONG! :) So, I paid attention more to her signals today. Poor kid is scared to pee on the potty. I turned off the music but still she fights peeing in the potty. There were many tears shed today, many frustrated at mommy moments. She hated me for making her stay on the potty or get back on the potty. She knows it's wrong to pee on the floor because she'll say "Oh No..." or "Uh oh". We're doing naked method by the way, because I think panties would be too much like diapers for her. She might realize oh no the first time or two but then she'd not think twice about it. Using panties would be cleaner that's for sure. Man am I tired of cleaning up pee! I know I have a few more days to go. Mike doesn't really support my potty training methods. He doesn't want her peeing on the floor & he won't watch her or pay attention like I do. He needs to get on board but I'm not sure he'll get that way. He's always put a diaper on her as soon as he got home from work. Part of me wants to not be potty training either. Diapers are so easy, so effortless. Put them on, send her on her way. I don't have to worry about her having an accident because I'm in the other room doing dishes or laundry or picking up whatever it is that needs to be picked up. I can't pay attention to her when I'm cooking dinner or making lunch. Seriously, at least for us (katie & I), I need to be able to see her face & her demeanor/body language and be able to respond right then & there.

Potty training sucks but I seriously hope this times the charm. I don't want to fail & I definitely don't want to start over a 3rd time. Day 1 of Attempt 2 was as bad or worse than Day 2 of Attempt 1. I'd end up in a nut house from Day 1 of Attempt 3. We can not fail, we can not fail! We will do it!!!

In all honesty, if it fails, which I plan to give it an honest try. I gave it 2 days last time, I gave up quick. This time I plan to try for at least 3-4 days, hopefully a week but I know the weekend will be tricky. We have cleaning to do & shopping to do. So anywho, I really need to give it a real good strong try this time. But IF it doesn't work, she's not even 2. She is still young, quite young, so I have time. A full year before we're pushing 3 & oh heck no, you better get out of diapers. :)

I'm sure I've babbled on & on saying the same stuff over & over. Probably boring or frustrating to read. Oh well. This is more for me to be able to come back & read some day, in a few years or 16. Tell me my baby girl isn't almost 2! Geesh! :) Bye!

May 24th

I can't sleep so I figure I might update some. Katie is almost 22 months which is crazy and I know I updated like a week ago. She seems to be growing & learning so much lately. In the last week it seems she does so many new things. I'm sure I repeat the things she's doing in blogs because honestly I forget when she started some things.

Her newest thing is saying I Love You and it actually sounds like I love you. It's I Wub U but I'll take it, I love it. If I whisper it to her she'll whisper it back. I was trying to get to her to say it on the phone so I was whispering & she kept whispering it back instead of at normal volume. Silly girl. Now she'll say "I wub u, bye" when talking on the phone. I guess she's listened to a few phone calls & knows that's how they end but she tries to end them in the middle.

She has started pointing out body parts on me now which is new. She use to do only herself but now she'll point to my stuff as well if I ask. We're working on shoulders & neck now on her.

She has become obsessed with putting on clothes. She can put on her own shoes (mary janes with velcro) & she's quite proud of herself. She can now put my socks on herself, even though she refuses to keep her own socks on. Good thing it's spring/summer weather here. She likes to try & put pants & shorts on herself. Half the time both legs are in one hole but she's trying. Shirts go on like a skirt & sometimes end up looking like a skirt. So I'm trying to teach her how to put a shirt on the right way, from the top down, not bottom up. :)

Potty training did not go well & I gave up. Mike isn't on board & just kept saying he didn't want her to pee on the floor. So, for now I'll just keep asking her if she needs to potty when she follows me to the bathroom. We'll talk about it for a few more weeks before trying again. Apparently most people don't potty train til 3 which seems crazy to me. At least all the pinterest pins talk about their kids being 3-3.5 when training. I'd like Katie trained by 2 but that's probably not happening. We still have 2 months, you never know I guess.

Katie seems to understand so much. She picks up her toys or items when asked or told. She'll throw trash away & put her clothes in her hamper or washing machine(washer & dryer are in the kitchen/a closet next to the fridge). She can put her clothes back in her dresser(when she's decided to bring some out in to the living room for her to put on herself) when told too.

She loves putting on lotion or rubbing anything in to her hair or on her body. She always wants some soap or lotion on her hands when I'm washing or lathering her up. She wants to help or really do it herself.

She LOVES music & dancing. It is so funny to watch her dance, she's such a happy girl. So fun of joy & life.

She's getting back into loving books. We've been reading a lot, mostly because I'm trying to teach her ABC's. She tries to sing along to the ABC song & I ask her to point out things in the book. She won't repeat letters yet really but she knows "B" because that's what we call her pacifier. It's a binky which got shortened to b. I have no idea why we called it a binky. Anyways, reading. We also work on colors but she can't pick them out usually. She can repeat blue, pink, & purple if she wants too. Sometimes it seems she can pick out things really easily but I wonder if it's just luck. I downloaded an app which asks the child to pick out an item from the 4 choices(which one is ball, cat, train, etc) & sometimes she'd get 3 or 4 out of 4 (game was only 4 questions long) but sometimes she'd only get 1. Sometimes she'd be right on things I didn't know she knew but then would get easier things wrong a game or two later. So, maybe she's just playing. We've only used the app once & played maybe 10 games of the pick this. I don't usually let Katie play on the tablet or my phone but I have apps on my phone for when she's getting restless at restaurants or on the road, occasionally at home. I'm on the fence about electronic learning because I don't want my child always wanting & needing a phone or tablet to keep her quiet or interested but I also know it excites her and it could be used in a learning manner. It drives me crazy seeing babies in front of tablets, months old in front of tablets. Seeing 5 year olds with their head buried in a tablet. I've witnessed a kid, 6-7, literally play on a tablet for HOURS straight, not even with a learning thing, it was a damn game. I would say Katie gets to play on my phone for maybe 30 mins a week, if that. It's a treat, not a privilege. Anyways, coming off my high horse/rant. I try to work on colors, numbers, & letters a lot. Hoping her brain is sucking it all in.

So, my kid doesn't get to play on phones or tablets but she does watch a lot of tv. Yeah, yeah, bad mom. I always said I wouldn't be that mom but I am. Oh well. Her favorite shows are Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood & The Chica Show, she LOVES (love love loves) the chica show. If she hears that music she gasps & will instantly comes to the tv (if she's not there already). Usually she'll sit through a whole episode too instead of running around & playing while sporadically watching. We only get to see it/record it once a week since we got rid of Sprout(channel). She seems to like, or maybe it's just I like, Sesame Street. Can't go wrong with Sesame Street! :)

Toddler bed still going great. No issues at all. Hooray!

Welp, I think that's about it. I don't know what else to write about, even though I'm probably forgetting a lot of things.

21 Months, Visitors, & Mother's Day!

I swore no more months after 18 but here I am, with a 21 month old. Haha. I swear I'll stop at 2. Because 25 months sounds stupid. I shall go with 2 years 1 month instead. :) Anyways, our darling daughter is 3 months (or now 2.5 months) from being 2. WHAT!!! What the heck, time is going so fast! I blame it all on the people who told me it would. You all made it go faster, you jinx us. :) Just kidding but it does go so fast! I probably should've done a photo session to celebrate 21 months, it sounds so important, but I didn't. I have been taking pictures though. My parents showed up on Apr 30th & it was so nice seeing them. My brother showed up that Saturday (May 3rd). I definitely miss being so close to family. Not that Az was super close, being 16 hours from family, but it was still closer than a 3-4 day drive. Won't get into that now though, other than it makes me sad Katie won't grow up around our families. Maybe we'll get stationed closer to home sometime, we still have at least 7 years left in the army. :)

Well, I don't know how tall or how heavy little miss is, though my mom claims 20 lbs. She did the weigh herself, then weigh with Katie. The other day it showed 18.4 lbs with Katie standing on it in a diaper & shirt. I do think she's grown in length, she seems quite a bit taller. I should measure her. She's in size 3 diapers & 18m clothes. She's talking a lot & it took my mom being here to realize she'll ask you "what you doing?". I ask her that all the time so it figures she'd pick that up. :) She can pick out a monkey(& make their sound), a giraffee, & an elephant(tries to make their sound). She's correctly picked out fish, lion, tiger, & a few others but I'm not sure if she's really certain on those yet.

Big girl.... Yesterday I finally made Katie's crib a toddler bed. She never tried to crawl out of it, she had no problem just sitting in there waiting to be picked up/let out. I didn't have to switch her but I felt it was time. I did panic that I made a mistake. She at first stayed in there & didn't know how to get down. Or maybe thought she'd get in trouble. Then she thought it was a game getting in & out. I am happy to say we've now had a successful night & currently having a successful nap in there. I may've gotten lucky but I know if she has a bad night her being able to get out of the bed will be bad. I still put her to sleep on me/next me. Now she'll usually lay down next to me to fall asleep. I need to start a bedtime schedule, I really do.
Next Big Thing: Potty training. Ok.... My parents brought the potty my 2nd cousin Izzy used. It's a princess one & it plays music. Katie thought it was so cool & kept sitting on it so I started sitting her diaperless on it. When she pees it plays music & celebration & while my parents were here she peed 4 times in the potty. The music/celebration scares the crap out of her. Ugh! I made a potty sticker board for her & today we started potty training. I wonder if she's too young or not ready. The fact she peed with my parents here & thought the seat was so cool made me think it was a good time. But her being freaked out by the music is frustrating. Yes I can turn it off but I want to wait til she starts peeing consistently. Or maybe it should be the the other way. Who knows. So, today, day 1 of officially trying, the naked bottom method, and....ugh. 1 success & 5 mini accidents. They were mini for a reason, she immediately alerts by "uh oh" & she'll stop while we run to the potty. Only once she actually peed in her potty though. I did put a diaper on for nap time but I plan to take it off when she gets up. I hope I'm not screwing myself but having 2 big changes at once. I guess if it doesn't work this time we'll just try again in a week or two but she deserves a fair shot at it so we'll see how today goes. :) My big big girl! :(

Mother's Day. It's still weird to celebrate MOTHER'S day! To have a reason to celebrate. I celebrated being a dog mom but it's different having a human baby. It is nice being able to actually be hugged & kissed. :) Daddy didn't have her do any crafts for me so I did my own. Her handprint in salt dough & I need to write on it. :) I am a mommy & I will always be! :) Well, nap should be over soon so I shall go. Have a great day.

Toddler?!

Ok, yes, I have a toddler on my hands. :) I've still seen her as a baby, our baby, & while she'll always be my baby & our baby, she is a toddler now. What did it? "Wook!" as she points at something & EVERYTHING! Everything now is "wook!" as she points out stuff. For some reason that thing, that wanting to bring our attention to something & telling us to look at it, made me realize she's a big girl now. Well, not big big girl but not a baby. I think it's harder because she's taken so long for most things, she just does things slower than other babies. Another "oh she's a toddler" factor is running, she's running now. Oh geez, like our clumsy kid needed to learn about running. It seems she's blossoming lately in every way. Getting her to speak is still a battle but she does speak, just what she wants too. She is smart, or I think she is, because it seems she knows things I've barely taught her or didn't think I did. Now, don't get me wrong, I try to teach this kid all the time & usually I'm met with no interest. Body parts, this kid is good. She picks up parts fast. Giving her a bath she started washing herself(after I had). I told her to wash her other leg (didn't point, just said it) & she did it. Wash her face & she did it. Wash head, did it. Que shocked mom, I've only pointing out her face & head once or twice. Colors? Nope. Sort of sounds like she can say blue & pink but she can't identify colors. Or maybe she can, she's been right a time or two. She can curse, yay(sarcasm). I've taught my kid to say a bad word & no I didn't mean too. But this kid refuses to give it up. She knows how to use it too because she says it when she's mad/frustrated. Yeah, I hang my head in shame, not a proud moment, as I've obviously said it a few billion times too many. So, we've been trying to teach her to NOT say it but that doesn't work. Oh well. Focus on the good, this kid is body smart! Eyes, ears, nose, tongue, teeth, mouth, belly, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, toes, face, head, hair! She also knows what her pee pee is. I asked her if she pee peed & she pointed to the area. Yeah, not what I was asking & I know I didn't teach her that but ok, she knows it. Potty training, not sure if/when it'll happen. Sometimes she'll know/want a new diaper & other times I can ask her if she's gone pee pee and she'll tell me no when I know she has. I got her a seat that goes on a regular toilet & at first she thought it was cool but now, not so much. My parents are bringing a toddler toilet with them which probably is a better idea since my munchkin is a munchkin & so small. I read the tag for her 18m shirt & it made me sad & worried because it said 28-32 lbs(or something like that). I told my husband she's like 10 lbs underweight. She did seem to hit a growth spurt but I don't know if she's gained since our scale for some reason never shows her gaining. Ugh!!! So, what she's wearing. 18m everything but socks/shoes. 18m pants tend to be big on her in the waist but mostly fit. Shirts fit. Her shoe size is 3 & I think her socks are 12-18m size. So I guess she's not that far off, other than weight, for her size. 21 months in 18 month clothes. Speaking clothes, she understand when I tell her she needs shoes & a jacket(though not a jacket lately) & can get them if they're within reach. Back to what she's up to/likes. She loves water & dancing/music. We got her a water & sand table & she seems to like it. Splashing in the water & dumping out the sand. She loves bubbles & chasing/popping them. She likes her bubble mower because she gets to be like daddy & it blows bubbles. Of course she loves baths & if you mention one she's in the bathroom NOW! Brushing teeth, she loves to do. Mostly she likes sucking off the toothpaste & water. She does brush her teeth but she likes to play with it too. It's so WEIRD, funny, & amazing to me that she knows how to & loves to brush her teeth. Like, what? My baby girl brushes her teeth?! We brush our teeth together in her bathroom & now I have to hide if I want to brush my teeth alone in my bathroom. Even if I'm just doing my hair she'll come in & start clawing at the counter & pointing in her mouth(teeth). She'll get MAD if she doesn't get to do it. Anyways, back to fun stuff. She loves music, loves it. Listening to it, making it, dancing to it. Well, I'm sure I forgot a million things she's up too lately. Oh, she can drink like a big girl & likes to share with mommy or daddy instead of using her own cup. But if mommy pours some of her stuff into Katie's cup then she's ok drinking from her own cup. :)

20 months

My baby girl is 20 months. What?! I said I would stop after 18 months, I mean that's the logical place to stop in months. I do normally say 1.5 now if asked by strangers though. But for my reference, I still think in months. I have no idea how much she weighs or how tall she is. She looks to me like she's grown in the last month but I don't know if she has or not. She was 18 lbs 4oz at 19 months. She's had a stomach bug or 1.5 weeks now. She seems better, then is sick again, is better for a few days, is sick again. I seriously thought we were done, she was perfectly normal for 2 days. Ugh!

She's in size 3 diapers & 18m clothes. 12m pjs are too tight but 18m pjs swallow her. She's been wearing 18m clothes for a while now but they're big on her. I have to put the stretchy pants on her because they're smaller than jeans which fall off of her. We're finally getting better weather so I just switched out her winter for summer clothes. I'm sure Tennessee will be hit with snow or freezing temps again & I'll be pulling winter clothes out of the box. Oh well, so be it.

It's so hard not to judge your kid by another. Oh, that 1 yr old is doing that already? So-so is doing that, she's younger than Katie, why is Katie not doing that? Is my kid slow? Is something wrong? I know I shouldn't but I constantly compare Katie to other kids around her age or younger. Some 20 months old are putting words together & communicate what they want. Um, not my 20 month old. I can't stand kids who only point & groan their wants and guess what, I have a pointer & groaner. I TRY & TRY to get her to speak her wants/needs. Nope! "Say drink", "Say grape", "Say Please". She immediately cries when I ask her to speak her desires. Immediately cries. What is wrong with her, why won't she SPEAK?! She does say words, she's not mute, but she's perfectly happy pointing. She's not dumb either, she understands me & can usually do what I ask. Today she brought me her shoes because she wanted to play on the grass. She says Thank you like a champ & mumbles "have a good day" after her clear BYE! Mommy always says "bye, have a good day". She use to say good girl thanks to grandma. I told her good job for months, MONTHS!, gma tells her good girl & she repeats it no problem. GRRR! She hasn't said good girl since gma left in January though but I don't usually tell her good girl, I still use good job. Anyways. At bath time we work on colors, we are always working on body parts which those she tends to pick up easy. She can point out eyes, ears, nose, tongue, teeth, hands, feet, belly, & the newest ones she knows are fingers, toes, arm, & legs. I'm sure some other 18m knows just as many or more. She was helping me do little things around the house but gave that up. No more helping mommy put away dishes for her, she has a basket to push around. She LOVES oranges & grapes. I'm told I shouldn't give those to her, they're acidy. My kid loves them, she will get in the fridge & pull an orange out every time we're in there for something else. My kid LOVES oranges! Might be she likes being a big girl too. She now can drink like a big girl aka no sippy cup needed. She still gets one because last thing I want is to be doing is cleaning up blood from her slipping in spilled water. She gets to drink like a big girl when someone is there to watch & actually she knows which cups have lids & wants the lid on it. I've taken the lids off her sippy & she'll ask for the lid (or put her hand out for it, no words). She still loves bathes though hates having her hair washed. I buy the color tabs for her bath, more for my fun. I like colored water for her. :) It's weird to me for her to be walking around stores with us or walking to the car hand in hand. She's a big girl, a tiny big girl, with a great big gap-toothed smile. She is such a happy kid. I love when she hugs me & kisses me. I love her blown kisses & her kiss sound. It's so cute to hear a little kid make the smack sound, too funny. I love when she grabs my face in love & snuggles. Knowing she wants to give me love. Not asked for love, but real "I love you mommy" moments. Makes me know that I'm doing something right. I lose my temper, I lose my patience, I get mad, & I think I'm the worst parent in the world. But the fact she gives me affection shows me she knows she's loved & loves me back.

Toddler bed, oh no. We're not to the toddler bed stage yet which does seem weird knowing her age but we're just not there yet. She's not once tried to climb out of the crib & it's not even on the lowest setting yet. She will sit in bed til someone gets her. I don't look forward to toddler bed freedom. A friend is doing that fun stuff now & oh it makes me dread the day we move her to a toddler bed. Which I do plan to do around her birthday. A 2 yr old should be in a toddler bed right? Yes, they should. :)

Well, I guess that's it. I'm sure I left out SO much but oh well, so be it.

18 Month Check

Yesterday Katie had her 18 month check, with a new doctor. Well, she's a nurse practitioner, but I heard good things about her before we went. All good reviews for her which was good. So, she comes in and a whirlwind of info & instruction and it was overwhelming. So overwhelming! First off, Katie, my big girl is

18 lbs 2oz & 30 inches long
Yup, still tiny & still under 20 lbs. *Sigh*. I love my petite girl but I have worried about her small size & slow gain. Well, so is this NP. That upset me a lot. It upset me that there is really an issue & it's like she's saying my daughter isn't perfect. She is perfect just how she is. Ugh. So I understand but at the same time it's upsetting. Katie will be needing weekly checks to make sure she starts gaining. I'm not so happy about that. I know Katie has always been a slow gainer, always, & it hasn't stopped her from doing anything. She's just smaller but still has loads of personality.

Ms. Haynie is finally addressing the issue I've been asking for help on or 14 months. Katie's constipation issue. Yes, 14 months of dealing with this & only getting. "give her prunes, give her apple juice, give her blah." when I sit there & tell them nothing changes or she doesn't like those things. So, there is a plan of action & that action starts with a 3 day liquid diet. Do you realize how hard it is to try & make sure my kid is getting enough nutrition on only liquids? No milk included. It's juice, broth, water, & yogurt. Some noodles are ok but not many. She's suppose to gain weight but can't eat anything. Ok, I know the liquid thing is for constipation. She needs to start going like a normal baby. She's on metamucil too, twice a day until she's normal. I hope it works, I really hope so. We go back in a week for an update & weight check. I just hope she realizes she'll probably lose weight being off food for 3 days. Well, that's the update.

18 Months

Our Precious Angel is 18 months old. Where the heck did the time go?!?! Seriously?! I'm finally seeing her as a toddler & not my little baby. She's FINALLY walking! I know some babies start at 9, 10, 12 months. All I kept hearing from my MIL is how all her kids started a week after turning one. Katie's cousin (2 months younger) started at 9.5-10 months. Well, our angel didn't start until 17.5 & I guess so be it. I don't know any kid that took so long to walk. Well, she's been taking steps for a few months. I have video at Thanksgiving time of her taking steps from person A to person B but mid January is when she for the first time stood up by herself, then stood up & walked by herself. She's still so petite. Our scale still says 18 lbs middle of the day & fully dressed so I'm insanely worried about her weight. She sometimes doesn't eat a lot, also worrying me greatly. But what can I do? Keep trying to get her to eat so she gains & grows. Keep encouraging her to learn new things & be independent. She's very smart & stubborn. She's very happy & proud of herself. She's in size 12m still, 18m are huge on her. She's in size 3 diapers still with plenty of room. She truly is my petite princess!!! She needs to grow if I'm going to get use out of all the 18m winter clothes I got. It truly is cold here. Oh, we moved to Tennessee (Fort Campbell) December 30th & it's been COLD!!! Holy heck. Today, my birthday, I took Katie outside to play in the snow. Not too big of a fan but she loved swinging. Our new house came with a play set in the backyard & she loves swinging. We don't have a baby swing, it's a big girl swing. I told my husband we need to get a baby swing (before I put her on there) but I guess we don't. She didn't want to come in today even though it was freezing outside. :) My cold weather girl, she's always loved colder weather. :) Back to the baby/toddler stuff. She's smart (or so I think). She knows eye, nose, tongue (use to be teeth but she thinks tongue is funnier), ears, hands, belly, & feet. We work on new parts often. She's curious so why not teach her what is what. I kept working on colors with her & I'm sure one day she'll just pop off with a color. She's not a big talker, though she jabbers all the time. She does usually know what I'm wanting her to do when I tell her. Miss proud, she loves when she does something and I tell her "you did it". She repeats "I DID IT!". She loves brushing her teeth & hair. Her hair is so baby fine that it's hard to put up in a ponytail. It's frustrating for me because it's long & gets in her face. She LOVES LOVES LOVES baths. If she hears the tub water turned on she gets there as fast as can be. Usually crawling like crazy but she's recently started fast walking (not to bathroom but in general) so I foresee running to the tub soon.  Well, not sure what I'm forgetting but I'm sure it's a lot. Our little girl is growing up!!! :(

Merry Christmas!
